How do I become a Roadsweeper Operative at UBU?
We are looking for candidates who hold a Category C (Class 2) Licence and a Driver CPC Card. Due to the nature of the role, applicants should also be prepared to meet the physical demands of the job.
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we value and reward our team fairly. You’ll be working with customers within a 50-mile radius of our depot, and once you’ve completed your induction, you’ll be allocated your own road sweeper.

Our drivers typically work 10–12-hour shifts, with weekend and night work paid at time and a half. We are also proud to be a Disability Confident Employer, committed to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace.
Whilst not essential, candidates with an NVQ Level 2 in Road Sweeping & Gully Sucking and a Skilled Worker CSCS Card will be at an advantage. These qualifications demonstrate relevant industry knowledge and experience and are desirable for the role.
